2007/2008 Rachel Carson Essay Contest - Centennial Celebration

To qualify you must be a female junior or senior in high school with a minimum GPA of 3.0,
participate in volunteer or community service activities that are environmental in nature. You
do not need to be an applicant to Chatham University to be considered for this contest.
Cash Prizes:
First Place - $1,000

William D. Squires Scholarships

A renewable $3,000 scholarship for those who: Have a specific Career Goal,
are highly motivated to complete their education, have good character, and a
min GPA of 3.2. The application is available online at www.wmd-squires-foundation.org. It cannot be submitted online
though. All applications must be postmarked by Saturday, April 5, 2008


Mahoning Valley Chapter of the Ohio Credit Union LEague Scholarchip

ONE $1,000 Scholarship will be awarded. If you are chosen your application will then be
sent to participate in a statewide scholarship program. The application is available in the Guidance Office.

Minority Journalism Scholarship

One $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior planning to major in
print journalismat an Ohio college or university during the 2008 - 2009 academic year.
Applications are available in the Guidance Office or online at www.ohionews.org
All applications are sue by March 31, 2008. The winner will be announced in early May.
