poster contest

The artwork of several H.C. Mines Elementary School students caught the attention of judges at the 2021 Conservation Poster Contest sponsored by the Trumbull Soil and Water Conservation District.  This year’s theme was “Healthy Forests, Healthy Communities”.  Students worked on their posters in art teacher Karlisle Becker’s art classes.  Congratulations to student Gia Brigido for not only winning the local contest (Division 2-3), but for also placing second in the state contest.

We also want to congratulate the following students for placing in the Trumbull Soil and Water Conservation District’s contest:  Sophia Zurasky (Division 4-6 1st Place),  Kendall Bohyer (Division 4-6 2nd Place), Bailey Morr (Division 2-3 2nd Place) and Lucy Shaffer (Division 2-3 Honorable Mention).
