As part of the district’s ongoing strategic planning goals, North Road Intermediate School was closed two years ago to ensure optimal operating efficiency under the district's changing enrollment. As a result of the closure, we experienced increased collaboration amongst our teaching staff and students as they were absorbed into the middle school building.
In keeping with our strategic planning goals to maintain a fiscally healthy school district, and in consideration of past enrollment trends and future forecasts, the Howland Board of Education plans to vote on a resolution to sell the North Road building and property at the February 28, 2022 board of education meeting. The sale of the building and property will be advertised through a public auction and conducted in accordance with Ohio Revised Code and local requirements. All proceeds from the sale will be earmarked as initial funds for the district's future plan to build a school/community auditorium. Board meetings are open to the public and comments may be shared in accordance with board policy.
