HHS COMMUNITY PARTNER / BUSINESS OF THE MONTH

Tiger

Dear Valued Local Business or Community Partner:

As a matter of introduction, my name is Joe Simko and I am the principal of Howland High School. We are seeking partnerships with our local businesses and community entities to collaborate with our HHS Students. At Howland High School we have established a positive culture and environment focusing on our theme of “ALL ONE”. Our students, staff, families, and community support each other to strive for excellence.

Every month, our staff members nominate students who are achieving excellence to be acknowledged as Students of the Month. Additionally, our students nominate staff members who have exhibited exemplary efforts to be recognized as Teachers of the Month. Both students and staff must show great character. selflessness, and service to others to be considered for the recognition.

While all great schools recognize their students’ hard work and accomplishments in the classroom, the ELITE schools across our country create partnerships with local businesses to recognize and promote such successes. Therefore, the purpose of my correspondence is to expand our monthly recognition program to integrate positive community partnerships.

Through this partnership, local businesses are encouraged to help recognize the high school’s students and teachers of the month by making a nominal donation that could be used to recognize our award recipients. For that generosity, we would reciprocate by recognizing your business as a partner through our school social media and website, share a media press release with our community, and recognize your business on our Wall of Community Partners by taking a photo with our students and staff.

If you so choose, we would also welcome you to meet with our amazing Students and Teachers of the Month to provide a motivational message about the importance of investing in our community. In an effort to provide our students with the best experiences while in high school, and the best opportunities after high school, we would also welcome you to meet with our building administration and Student Services Specialist to learn about our College and Career Readiness programs and potentially give advice to help ensure the future success of our students. Again, your business expertise would be encouraged and appreciated if you would like to pass along any advice to our students.

We feel that this would not only be a great opportunity to recognize local businesses but also provide a platform to establish positive dialogue and educate our business community about our students and school environment. It may also give your business the chance to meet some of our students and open the doors to employment opportunities in the community to support each other as “ALL ONE”.
