Howland High School celebrates the achievements of teacher Brian O'Dell in this year's Scholastics Art Awards.

Under O'Dell's leadership, Howland students showcased remarkable digital performances at the 2024 Scholastics Art Awards.  In fact, O’Dell won more awards in the digital art categories than any other educator in the four county area who submitted this year.

“Brian is by far one of the best. Amongst our peers, Brian is highly respected and appreciated for his knowledge.  He also helps other teachers by sharing his experience and best practices” said Josh MacMillan, Northeast Ohio Scholastics Regional Coordinator.

At the competition, Senior Katherine Toepfer earned two Gold Keys and two Silver Keys in Photography, freshman Miley Packman earned a Gold Key in Digital Art Design and freshman Zoey Hill earned a Silver Key in Digital Art Design.  Gold Key winners Katherine Toepfer and Miley Packman will advance to nationals to compete for national awards.
