Dear Tiger Families,
In partnership with the Howland Township Police Department, the Howland Local School District is taking proactive measures to increase safety and security for spectators and participants during school athletic and activities events. After reviewing the safety protocols used at professional and college sporting events and public arenas, we recognize the importance of enhancing our own safety measures. Importantly, there is no current/known threat. As a proactive measure, we are strengthening safety and security for all participants and spectators at our events by implementing the following:
Elementary & Younger Students (6th grade and below):
Must be accompanied by an adult at all times, except when traveling to the restroom or concession stands
May not run around the facility or campus
Students must remain out of restricted areas
Middle & High School Students (Grades 7–12):
Students attending without an adult must sit in the designated student sections
Students may not run around the facility or campus
Students must remain out of restricted areas
Bag Policy & Prohibited Items:
NO book bags or purses are permitted into events
Small clutches/wristlets are permitted if smaller than 4.5” x 6.5”
Clear bags are permitted if they do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”
Diaper bags are permitted if accompanied by a small child
No athletic balls, toys, or items deemed to diminish public safety
All items brought into the facility are subject to search and inspection
Consequences:
Spectators who fail to assist us in increasing safety and security may be removed from the facility and forfeit their ticket/pass for the remainder of the school year.
Your partnership is essential to us in maintaining a family-friendly environment. Thank you for reviewing these safety and security expectations with your child before attending an event. Together, we can ensure a positive and enjoyable experience for all participants and spectators. Your safety is our top priority – Go Tigers!
