The Howland High School Prep Bowl teams had a strong showing at the 36th Annual Mahoning Valley Quiz Bowl Championship at Columbiana High School. The tournament included 26 teams from Trumbull, Mahoning, Columbiana and Mercer counties. The teams are coached by Jerry Young.
Howland’s varsity team (Bo Kuang, Dante Marsco, Justin Keating and Brady Morrone) won its regular season division, advanced through the championship bracket, and earned the overall Mahoning Valley Quiz Bowl Championship title!
The junior varsity team (Nicholas Alvetro, Sophie Natale, Niko Raptis and Alex Vansuch) also won its regular season division and finished second in the Junior Varsity Championship Tournament!
With the championship win, the varsity team advances to the state tournament on April 11 in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
