Members of the Howland High School Speech and Debate Team competed at the state tournament this past weekend, earning several strong finishes while facing top competitors from across Ohio.
Junior Mason Sylvester and Trevan Brindle each advanced to the semifinals in Congressional Debate.
In Humorous Interpretation, Madalena DiVieste advanced to the quarterfinal round.
Also qualifying for the state tournament were Reagan Leeland and Sophia Danchise.
The state tournament brings together the top speech and debate students from across Ohio, making qualification and advancement a notable accomplishment.
