Dear Students and Families,

Due to recent increases in the number of quarantines at our high school and middle school buildings, we will be transitioning to full remote learning for our high school and middle school students ‪starting this Tuesday, November 17‬ ‪through at least November 24‬, the last day before Thanksgiving Break. Although known confirmed positive cases in our District have remained low, the number of quarantines have increased significantly - making it logistically impossible to operate in these buildings without securing coverage in key positions. Due to the fact this shift to remote learning at the high school/middle school is the result of the district's inability to secure staff coverage for the increased number of staff quarantines, activities and athletics will continue for students.

Importantly, many of the quarantines we are seeing have been attributed to cases outside of our schools. This, along with the fact that the health department has given us positive feedback with the mitigation measures we have in place to operate under a 4-day hybrid model, we anticipate transitioning back to in-person 4-day hybrid learning ‪starting November 30‬, the first day back from Thanksgiving Break.

Although we feel fortunate to be able to continue in-person learning at this point for our elementary students (K-4) and staff, we will continue to monitor trends and make the necessary adjustments or learning model transitions accordingly.

For the most updated information on COVID-19, please refer to our District Dashboard on our School Website. This information is updated every 24 hours and Mondays after the weekend. Although we keep track of all quarantines for operating and decision-making purposes, the dashboard shares school related cases and quarantines and does not include cases or quarantines attributed to scenarios outside our school system, as these are recorded by the entity/organization where a case originates.

Our learning expectations will be communicated by our school building administrators on Monday, November 16, 2020. If you have any questions regarding our temporary shift to remote learning, please contact your child’s school building.

Again, we are shifting to remote learning in grades 5-12 beginning Tuesday, November 17, 2020 through at least Tuesday, November 24, 2020. School for students in grades 5-12 is tentatively schedule to resumed on Monday, November 30, 2020. Students in grades K-4 will continue with in-person learning.
