Howland High School students Fran Gajski and Jane Bronson were recently selected to attend District 6650's 27th Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Conference. Howland Rotary graciously sponsored and paid $700 for the two students to attend this training. The RYLA Conference is a program initiated by Rotary International to identify young people who have demonstrated leadership skills or have the potential to become leaders. The program provides participants with the opportunity to develop their leadership abilities through various activities.
Over the course of two and a half days, Fran and Jane participated in a range of group learning activities, discussions and listened to speakers who shared their experiences and insights into leadership. They also had the opportunity to interact with their peers and participate in social activities, all aimed at developing their leadership skills.
Howland High School is dedicated to providing its students with opportunities to develop their leadership skills and prepare them for success in their future careers and personal lives. The school is committed to working with community partners, such as Rotary International, to create opportunities for its students to become effective leaders and make a positive impact on their communities.
