 Howland Intermediate and Howland Junior High are thrilled to announce their recognition as one of the top-performing middle schools in the state of Ohio, achieving a place among the 2024 Best Middle Schools by U.S. News. The school has secured its position within the top 40% of middle schools in Ohio, with a rank of #266.

U.S. News evaluates schools based on various criteria, including performance on state-required tests, graduation rates and the effectiveness of preparing students for high school. Howland Middle School's dedication to academic excellence and student success has resulted in this well-deserved acknowledgment.

"We are very excited to receive this recognition!  Our students came prepared and confident on test days and showed all they knew!   Our teachers have worked hard the past few years to dive into the data and make instructional changes that help students grow,” said Howland Intermediate Principal Stephen Kovach.
