The National Speech & Debate Association has recognized the Howland High School Speech and Debate Team for earning a spot in the association’s prestigious 100 Club for the 2023-2024 school year. Throughout the school year, students in the speech and debate program are able to earn points and degrees based on competitive and service related activities. This past school year, the Howland High School’s speech and debate team achieved 103 or more strength points, which qualified them for the 100 Club. According to the National Speech and Debate Association, the milestone demonstrates outstanding commitment to teaching students essential life skills including communication, research, listening, writing and organization.
