Savvy Science Day was celebrated across Howland Schools. At the junior high, Mr. Johnson’s 7th grade students investigated how soil, sand and gravel affect water permeability. Through hands-on exploration, they saw firsthand how these materials help filter and protect Earth’s water.
Students in Janice Castner’s classes took on a challenging Earth science escape room. Working in groups of four, they used problem-solving skills and a decoder to answer questions and “unlock” five different rooms.
