Students cheering, playing games, and showing school spirit during a pep assembly ahead of state testing

Howland Intermediate School recently held a pep assembly to kick off state testing, which began earlier this week.

Students learned about incentives they can earn during testing, including tickets for being on time, having a charged Chromebook and giving their best effort. Tickets will be drawn throughout the testing period for prizes.

Mr. Kovach encouraged students to work together and stay focused, with students chanting “Show what you know!”

Special guests included the Howland High School Pep Club, Smokey the Tiger, Officer Jones, and Superintendent Spicher.

Students also participated in fun challenges during the assembly. The Roshambo tournament ended with a final matchup between 5th grader Addison Kistler and 6th grader Lucas Parks, with Lucas taking the win. Other winners included Owen Profera (Pizza Box Challenge), Navigator Ship (Hungry Hungry Hippo Challenge), and Liberty Ship (Box Tower Challenge).
