Students in a Child Development class participate in a pretend play challenge while learning about early childhood social and cognitive development.

Students in Child Development classes recently participated in a 30-second pretend play challenge as part of their study of early childhood development.

The activity helped students better understand how pretend play for children ages 4-5 demonstrates advanced social and cognitive development skills. Through the challenge, students explored how young children use imagination, communication, problem-solving, and cooperation during play.
