Evan Neely and Sapphire Lin participate in the Tressel Institute’s 2026 Summer Leadership Institute at Youngstown State University.

Howland High School students Evan Neely and Sapphire Lin participated in the Tressel Institute’s 2026 Summer Leadership Institute at Youngstown State University.

Evan and Sapphire joined 24 rising juniors and seniors from 16 school districts across the Mahoning Valley for the free, three-day leadership experience.

Throughout the program, students explored servant leadership, identified their personal values and leadership styles, practiced teamwork and communication, set SMART goals, and learned more about college and career opportunities.

Students also participated in a campus scavenger hunt, team-building activities at the Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center, and a community service project through United Way’s Saturday of Caring.

We are proud to recognize Evan and Sapphire for representing Howland High School at this year’s Summer Leadership Institute.
