Our students, Vocal Music Teacher Mr. Semrau, High School Principal Mr. Simko and Superintendent Kevin Spicher were invited to present at the Warren Chamber “Good Evening Howland” event held Thursday evening at Salvatore’s, highlighting the Township, our schools and other Howland businesses and organizations! Board of Education President Jeff Pegg and Vice President Brianne Perry were also in attendance.
Superintendent Spicher spoke about the success of Howland students and the strong partnerships with the township, local businesses and community organizations that support our schools.
The Howland High School Student Chamber Choir performed a beautiful selection and the Howland Schools alma mater for those in attendance.

REVISED: The Board of Education of the Howland Local School District, Trumbull County, Ohio will host a special board of education meeting on the 4th day of February, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Howland Middle School, for the purpose of reviewing the board vision, obtaining and sharing goals, strategic planning, finance and the 2026-2027 school year. There will also be an executive session for the purpose of the appointment/employment of an employee or official. No action will take place at this meeting.

Rachel Zimmerman’s classes took readers on an adventure by creating travel articles about destinations of their choice. Our fourth-grade writers became world travelers as they designed colorful travel brochures, highlighting must-see attractions and fun facts. By combining creativity with strong writing skills, our students turned their imaginations into exciting adventures!


Cold temperatures have forced us inside for recess, where students completed puzzles, played games and connected with their classmates!
Recently, our Howland High School Big Tigers spread kindness and encouragement by writing affirmation postcards to our Little Tigers at H.C. Mines Elementary. Our 9th grade students wrote PAWSITIVE affirmation postcards for 3rd graders, while our 10th grade students shared encouraging notes with 4th graders!
On Friday, our students were part of the nearly 3,000 students in grades 1–7 from 5 counties in Ohio and PA who visited and enjoyed incredible performances at the W.D. Packard Family Christmas Spectacular. Some of our talented students also performed at Friday’s show and throughout the weekend!
Students from HHS, HJHS, HIS, H.C. Mines and Glen represented Howland with pride. Special shoutout to our National Honor Society students who served as ushers, helping the event run smoothly.
