We're excited to share our new electronic annual report calendar with you! Starting this school year, the calendar will no longer be shared in hardcopy form. Instead, we will be sending out a minimum of three printed newsletters per school year to keep you updated on the latest events and happenings in our schools.
Click here to view the 24-25 calendar: https://5il.co/2t22i
You can download the calendar and print it from home at your convenience. The best part of moving to an electronic format is that we can update the calendar throughout the year, ensuring it remains accurate and up-to-date for your quick access from the app or website.
We look forward to the start of a new school year!

Dear Students, Families, and Staff:
I am saddened to inform you that one of our families with children enrolled in our middle school has recently suffered a most tragic loss, resulting from an automobile crash.
It is difficult for me to share that the incident claimed the life of the family’s father, Nathan Bogacki and their two children, Emma, 17 and Grant, 13, a Howland Middle School student. Their youngest daughter, Aubrey 11, also a middle school student remains hospitalized.
We know a variety of emotions will follow and want to be there to support this family’s mother, Nicole, as she and her extended family grieve and work to cope with this tragedy and the recovery of Aubry. It is for this reason that we especially want you to know of of our care and support to the Bogacki family and others in our school family.
Therefore, we have initiated crises response plans to assist students, families, and staff with emotional needs related to this sudden tragedy, and will have school counselors and emotional support staff available at the Howland Middle School Wednesday, July 24 between 10am -2pm.
Referrals will also be offered for support/psychology services and community based organizations as requested. This window of time will be extended as necessary to ensure we accommodate any students, families, or staff needing emotional support during this difficult time.
With a heavy heart on behalf of the staff and BOE,
Kevin Spicher
Superintendent

Josh Cantrell, a Howland senior who began home instruction during the COVID-19 pandemic due to a health condition, was unable to participate in the district’s traditional graduation ceremony. Determined to create a memorable experience for him, Josh’s home instructor, Amy Blair, organized a special surprise. With the help of her husband, a member of the Howland Fire Department, and officers from the Howland Township Police Department, Amy arranged for Josh’s diploma to be delivered to his home.
"I wanted to do something special," Amy Blair said. "With his health condition, Josh won't get to experience a lot of the same milestones as his peers. I wanted to make this memorable for him. After he received the diploma, he said it was the best day of his life."
Congratulations, Josh! 🎉🚒👮♂️ #HowlandPride #Graduation2024

The Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) chapter at Howland High School wrapped up its cherished pen-pal program with first-grade students by meeting their pen pals in person! This year, FCCLA members exchanged letters with first graders from Mrs. Delaquila’s and Mrs. Hartman’s classes. Throughout the school year, each high school student corresponded with the same first grader, watching their writing skills and personal growth flourish. Not only does this program enhance the writing skills of the first graders, but it also provides a meaningful activity for FCCLA members. Since 2018, this initiative has fostered bonds between high school and elementary students. #FCCLA #PenPalProgram #HowlandHighSchool #StudentConnections
