
Intermediate School’s Student & Teacher Spotlight for March 2025!




Students in Mr. O'Dell's 6th Grade Tiger PRIDE have been using our new Lego Education SPIKE Prime Sets (purchased by the PTO) to learn about coding and data types. The students worked to synchronize the motor movements of a "break dancer" to keep in rhythm with light and beats.





Congratulations to three of our HIS students who qualified and recently competed in the Regional Science Fair at Kent State University. Mia and Alayna earned an Excellent rating at regionals. Mason and Collin earned a Superior rating and will be competing at Ohio State University for the State Finals.



Today was Savvy Science Day at HLS. 6th grade students completed a fun lab with Starbursts to learn more about rock formations!





HIS participated in the state-wide tornado drill this morning. Our students did a great job getting to their tornado shelter quickly and quietly! Go Tigers!

The following 6th grade students, who were selected to play in front of Judge Tyler Hrusovsky, received Superior Ratings of 1 at the OMEA band contest at the Howland Intermediate Band Room. The ensemble group of Anthony Restaino drums, Lincoln Perry saxophone, Brayden O'Dell French horn, Nicholas Robert's flute, Kenton Thigpen oboe and Jacob Dickens tuba.

Our Top Tigers from the Intermediate Read-A-Thon were treated to a luncheon at Raising Canes today! Way to go HIS Tigers!

It's Day 3 of the HIS Read-a-ton and today's theme is "Hats Off to Reading!" Over 17,000 minutes have been read and over $6,500.00 have been raised!

A group of our intermediate students participated in the Junior Achievement Innovation Challenge today sponsored by Pizza Joe's.

Howland Intermediate has a school-wide Clue game occurring this week! Students are working hard to solve puzzles to figure out what happened , where it happened, and who did it!
