This morning HJHS Students started the day with a presentation from Cory Greenwood, "Your Story Matters". It was energetic and impactful. Students had a great time listening to some live music but also left with some tools to help navigate through challenging times and moments. Students were all reminded that their lives matter and have significant value. We appreciate and value Cory Greenwood and his team for working with our students this morning! https://youtu.be/iEjgcee-B3E

Today, Meijer of Warren and the American Heart Association donated a safety training kit complete with 10 CPR "Little Annies", a practice AED, and first aid materials totaling over $3200. Thank you to Meijer and the American Heart Association for your generosity to our school and to our students. This past week our 7th and 8th grade band students had the opportunity to receive specialized instruction from professionals in the field of music. Our 8th grade clarinet players had the opportunity to work with aspiring professional clarinet teachers from the 'YSU Clarinet Society' to perfect their clarinet skills. In addition, our guitar and bass guitar players from our HJHS Caribbean Steel Pan Ensemble "Steel Tigers" had the incredible opportunity to work with John Anthony, who is the guitarist with the famous group The Vindys. Our HJHS students learned amazing real-life professional music skills and had an amazing experience working with professionals in the field! The musical excellence continues in the Howland Music Department!
