More Rockin October Costume Party Pics
Our Rockin October Costume Party was a huge success last Friday! It was so nice to see so many families stop out and enjoy the activities! Thanks to our PTO parents for all of their hard work and planning.
A reminder that this Friday, Nov. 5th, is an early release due to the end of the first grading period. Car rider pickup will start at 2:20. Bus riders should arrive home about one hour early.

Costume party at Howland Glen!
Hello Glen Families,
Starting Thursday, 10/28, we will no longer accept bookbag tags in place of the full-size rearview mirror tags for car riders. If another person will pick up your child and does not have the rearview mirror tag, you must call the school to let us know who will be picking up your child. That person must show their driver's license in the car line.
A reminder that our costume party during school hours will take place this Friday, 10/29, and will not be open to parents. Students will change into their costumes about 1:30, so please do not have them wear their costumes to school. Additionally, there is no costume parade this year.
Our Rockin October Costume Party, put on by the PTO, will take place here at Glen starting at 4:30 PM and running until 7:30 PM. There will be an inflatable slide in the gym, rock painting, a scavenger hunt, candy provided by our local police and fire department, and more! Wear your costume and enjoy the fun! The slide will be indoors due to the rain, so please have a mask for your child while they are indoors. A parent/guardian must accompany your child at this event.

Tuesday, 10/20/21, we had a fire drill and lockdown drill. Both drills went very smoothly and there were no issues.

Fire safety day for 2nd grade students at Howland Glen! A big thank you to the Howland Fire Department!

The Harvest/Costume Party at Howland Glen will be held on Friday, Oct. 29th. This party is NOT open to parents/guardians. However, our PTO has selected a couple of volunteers for each class to help facilitate the craft and games. A few things to keep in mind: 1. Please do not send your child to school dressed in any part of his/her costume. 2. Please use your best judgement when designing your child's costume. It should be easy to put on, no blood, weapons or extreme gore should be considered appropriate. 3. In consideration of children and adults with asthma, do not send in any type of hair spray (including paint). 4. Do not send in any food items to be distributed. 5. There will be no costume parade this year. However, we do invite you and your student(s) to attend our "Rockin' October Costume Party" here at Howland Glen from 4:30 to 7:30 PM. This is an outdoor event - rain or shine! There will be an inflatable slide, rock painting, a scavenger hunt and more! Wear your costume and enjoy the fun!

Mrs. Bell’s class learning about life in the 1800’s. “Century Village in Burton, Ohio features a restored town that showcases life in Geauga County in the early 1800s.”
Mrs. Schrock’s class on Savvy Science Day. They read about the growth of the pumpkins to compare/contrast with what they learned about the life cycle of the apple tree. They then checked if the pumpkin would float and found all the parts that they read about!
Reminder…this Wednesday is picture day! Order online using the link on the Glen webpage or send your paper form in with payment on Wednesday.

It was fire safety day here at Howland Glen! A big thank you to the Howland Fire Department for helping our students learn more about fire safety. The students loved seeing some of the cool equipment that they use to do their job!
