Thank you for attending our 2023-2024 Literacy Night at Howland Glen! We had a fantastic turnout, and everyone had a great time!

These are our February students of the month at Howland Glen Primary! Each student was selected by their teacher for outstanding behavior and exceptional character! For this, they received pancakes with the principal and a certificate! Congratulations, and keep up the great work!

Good morning Glen families,
I just wanted to remind everyone that our literacy night is tonight from 5:30-7:00! We have so many fun activities planned!
I can't wait to see you there!
Mr. Roth

We invite our Howland school families to attend!

Good Evening,
Please check your child’s tiger folder tomorrow, Tuesday, 3/12, for sign-up information for our free after-school program sponsored by the Howland schools PTO coming to Glen next week! Sign-ups will be on a first-come, first-served basis, with the first 25 students in each program accepted. Students may choose only one program to give more opportunities for students to participate in something. The choices will be art on Wednesdays or Karate on Thursdays. Accepted students will receive an email and a letter home with further details once capacity is reached. The programs will be held immediately after school on their respective days.
Kind Regards,
Mr. Roth

Our hydroponic-grown lettuce made its way to our lunch tables this week! The freshly picked lettuce was served alongside pizza! With hydroponic systems now in place across multiple schools, we're expanding our growing efforts to include kale and Swiss chard!

Glen families, I want to say thank you for supporting the staff and students at Howland Glen by generously supporting our Philadelphia Candy Fundraiser! When it comes to replenishing my Principal's Fund, I try not to ask for multiple donations throughout the school year. Instead, I prefer to keep the "asks" to a minimum and put "all of my eggs in one basket!" I am optimistic that I can continue this trend and make our third year of selling premium chocolates our best year yet! Again, I appreciate your generosity and support! Please remember that order forms are due tomorrow, 2/26, and we would appreciate one check made out to "Howland Local Schools" whenever possible.
Sincerely,
Mr. Roth

Our Philadephia Candy fundraiser is coming to an end! The deadline for turning in your orders is Monday, 2/26. We ask that everyone please try to participate so we can have the most successful fundraiser yet! The proceeds help support the great activities, classroom technology, and other valuable classroom tools for our students. Online ordering is new this year and not recommended; instead, we ask that you turn in one check or money order for your entire order made payable to “Howland Local Schools.” In appreciation for doing this, your student will be entered in a drawing for six students to have lunch with Mr. Roth! We appreciate your help with everything you do to support our school!

Good morning,
A reminder that today is the end of the semester and therefore we will have a one-hour early release. Car rider dismissal will begin around 2:35. Buses will leave around 2:45. Have a great day! Mr. Roth

We're thrilled to share that 19 students from Howland Local Schools recently received a boost for their academic journey, courtesy of an initiative led by The Trumbull County Educational Service Center and its English Language Learner (ELL) Consortium.
The ELL Consortium, comprising 13 public school districts in Trumbull County, played a crucial role in providing backpacks, crayons, notebooks, and other essential school supplies to approximately 200 students in Trumbull County whose native language is not English.
This donation was made possible through the generous support of the United Way of Trumbull County and the English Language Learner Consortium. This initiative is part of the United Way's broader program, United "4 Kids," to foster student success in school and beyond.

As a reminder, our tardy bell rings at 9:20 AM. If you enter the car line at 9:20 or after, you must exit the car line and, drop your student off at the main office entrance, and sign them in using the iPad. Additionally, please utilize the entire space between both unloading signs to let your student(s) out of your vehicle. If you are waiting to let your student(s) out at the end of the line (closer to the door), you are holding up the car line and creating a dangerous situation where cars and students are in various stages of driving and walking. Please adhere to these protocols for the safety of our students.
Kind Regards,
Mr. Roth
